As we have now purchased the Wurlitzer organ from Charles Davidson all our fund raising efforts can be put towards restoration and installation, so that once more the 'old girl' can entertain a cinema audiance with melodious music.

Progress Report......

With the restoration work to the chests now complete we hope to be able to start assembling the organ in the cinema once the asbestos issue has been resolved.

The key contacts have all been rewired by LTOT technician Gordon and the water damaged veneers have been replaced by cabinet maker Artur.

Countless other jobs have been done by Mark and David.

The top boards have been cleaned up by members Carl and Robbie. New pallet springs have also been fitted as many of the old ones were corroded.

Paul has prepared chamber plans and these are being finalised with Charles of the Royalty and with our building contractor..

The primary motors in the Main Shutter Engine have been re-leathered. Neoprene gaskets have been applied to the Main Chest. Also recent work has included the re-leathering of the Off-note Chests of the Diapason, String, Flute and Tibia. Wind is currently being applied to the Main Chest to try and get it up and running. All very time consuming work. Well done to all concerned, especially to Ann for all the re-leathering work.

A set of Diaphone resonators have been sourced and purchased for the pedal department of the organ.

The metal pipes have been sent to Duncan Booths Ltd of Leeds for restoration.

A team has made a start at clearing out the understage area where the chambers will be built, but due to the discovery of asbestos no progress can be made until professionally dealt with.

The 'toy counter' is currently being restored to full working order.
